Yes, we still support Python 2, although the preference is to use Python 3 together with Inkscape 1.0.

For example Mac and Windows packages ship with Python 3, so extensions not compatible with Python 3 won't run out-of-the-box.

Everything shipped with Inkscape is supposed to run with both Python 2 and Python3, though.
