Bug Description

STEPS limited to px increments regardless of page settings

When using any other measurement system other than px the 'steps' parameter
for inkscape does not change to suit the page setting. e.g. Selecting 'mm'
as the unit size works in page settings, grid, snap etc. but when 'steps'
is selected in Inkscape preferences panel the measurement is still px.
Surely it
should change to suit the page working measurements?

Originator: NO

just change the amount of move on Steps tab in preferences (its unability
to use anything but px units is another bug, and in any case you can
manually translate units if you need it, 90px = 1 inch)

I don't know why this bug is marked "invalid". I find it very important, because I mostly work in millimetres and thus have correct every single object after moving it using the arrow keys. Actually, it is the only problem in Inkscape I encounter and might even drive me crazy one day. And wouldn't that be a shame??? ;)

Back to business - this bug might not be important for people using inches:

  90 px = 1 inch, see above

but with millimetres you'd have to enter something like

  3,543307...... px = 1 mm

Thus, you're getting round-off errors when moving by more than 180 mm (less than a sheet of DIN A4 paper).

I'm thus setting this bug back to "Confirmed". Please feel free to correct me! All the best from Germany,

Martin
