The current state of this issue:
- Pasting a bitmap (e.g. copied from Firefox or Gimp) always embeds.
- Pasting, importing or DnDing a bitmap file asks whether to embed.
- Linked images can be embedded using extensions.

Remaining items:
- Add context menu item to embed / extract image
