Both inkscape.desktop.in and inkscape.desktop.template live in the Inkscape source tree's root directory.

1. What uses these files? If nothing uses them, can we remove them?

2. Can they be moved into a subdirectory? E.g. packaging?

3. Can inkscape.desktop.in be generated from inkscape.desktop.template? If so, can we drop the generated one?
