Bug Description
Dia
http://
As you probably already know Dia is an open source GTK
based vector graphics drawing
program, and is part of gnome-office (Sodipodi is too).
Dia includes quite a few shapes. Sodipodi users might
want to be able to view some of them or use them like
clipart or something.
I am glad to see from the TODO list that you do already
have vague plans to support Dia.
http://
Although Dia documents (.dia) are a custom XML I am not
asking for support of the .dia file format I am
interested in the Dia .shape file format which is quite
different.
Dia Shape files (.shape) are mostly SVG with some extra
information about connection points.
It should be relatively easy for any program that
already supports SVG to add support for Dia.shape files.
I have also filed a bug against Dia in the Gnome.org
Bugzilla to keep track of requests for other programs
to support Dia.
http://
Dont hesistate to ask questions, i would very much like
it for more programs to support Dia.
Much as i like Dia i wont hesitate to admit that
is not an ideal tool for creating and drawing new
shapes and if i could create the shapes in another
program such as Sodipodi and
then export them it would save me a whole lot of hand
editing XML files to get things just right.
It would also help the Dia developers to concentrate on
the problem of
Diagramming more than on the problem of Drawing and
creating shapes.
