here's what I did to recreate the bug report:

1. ./ill2svg.pl
ill-text-troubles/Table_Salle_A_manger_harico.eps > foo.svg
2. edit foo.svg and delete the </text> and </tspan>
elements at the end of the file
3. inkscape foo.svg

It loaded up, but without the text objects.
