That's not to say that Inkscape might not be able to work around it, but if any interested programmer is reading, maybe that library is a better place to start. Actually, I'd be willing to chip in for a bug bounty. Does someone know a good place to do that? One of the big projects, or bring it up on one of the Inkscape dev's Patreon sites?
I have problem as well. Since it's been suggested that this is a Pango issue, I can offer two points of support for that:
