Bug Description
Hi Friends,
When I installed Inkscape 0.91 stable, (32-bit, exe installer) on a new computer running Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit, I changed the name of the folder where the installer wanted to put it. Instead of installing in a folder called "Inkscape", I changed the name to "Inkscape 091" (because eventually I'll have several versions on this computer (7z versions), and I want to have them in different folders).
I don't know if that's what has caused this problem, but it's the only reason I can think of. I can't find any way to uninstall it. It does not show up in Programs and Features or the Start menu. And when I go to where I installed it, there is no uninstall.exe file there.
So there really is no way to uninstall it.
I have done some testing. For example, I tried installing it again, and letting it be installed where it wanted (folder called "Inkscape"). When I do that, it does show up in Programs and Features, and in the Start menu, and it contains the uninstall.exe file. So I have been able to easily uninstall it.
However, I still can't uninstall the copy in "Inkscape 091".
I've asked for help on the user's mailing list, with no successful solution (https:/
Whether the bug can be fixed or not, I'm hoping a developer can tell me how to uninstall it.
Thank you very much :-)
PS - I found this old bug report, which is very similar. Except it is for a much older version and has fix committed. But still might be helpful. https:/
Note that when I installed 0.91, the translations option was not checked by default. I left it unchecked because I don't need translations. Thanks again.
Sounds like either the installation did not finish to start with or a failed/incomplete uninstall attempt (otherwise the uninstall.exe should be present).
Changing the installation directory works fine for me (on Windows 10).
If you want to be sure to correctly uninstall Inkscape you can install into the directory in question again and uninstall normally afterwards.
Otherwise it should also be safe to just delete the installation directory and install into a different directory again.
