Text preview pixelated

When zooming in and out of the project part of the letters are being cut off. It does not appear to cause any problems when the saved file (PDF) is exported into my cutting program.

I recently upgraded to Inkscape 0.91 r13725 and noticed a decrease in quality of the preview image when viewing or changing fonts. Its very pixelated.

Did you install a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Inkscape?
Could you please attache an SVG example file so that we can investigate?

Cutoff (right part of the rightmost character) reproduced on Windows 7, Inkscape 0.91, with Algerian, Vivaldi and Vladimir script fonts. Not reproduced with 0.48.5 and trunk rev. 14862, so it can be considered fixed in the next major version (you can test it with a recent archive at ftp://download.tuxfamily.org/inkscape/).

Pixelated preview reproduced (with all fonts) with 0.91 and trunk rev. 14862, but not with 0.48.5. Confirmed regression.

Since the cutoff is already fixed, I'm going to rename your report to target the second issue.

Yes, open the Help>About Inkscape dialog, and you should see the version number at the top right of the box.

Yes, open the Help>About Inkscape dialog, and you should see the version number at the top right of the box.
