I Attach a better file. This behabiour you tell is correct, because the opacity is computed by clone bounding box and if partialy cover is normal give diferent opacities value depending of the black/white proportion down the clone.

To me the problem, is if you pick color and clone over background the clones becomes black when the the user, I think, expect a white clone(maybe with transparency). To me in not easy undertable, and give a big level of confussion using the tool.

Also i lost in the tool a inverse scale option but this is another history.
