Bug Description
Just by clicking on the blur bar on a slow enough computer with a complex enough shape, you can cause Inkscape to freeze for minutes.
There needs to be a method to see and stop time intensive processes, especially if the UI allows starting them easily by a badly aimed click.
For example GIMP has a bottom bar progress bar and cancel button for filter processes.
Example situation:
I opened the Image from https:/
Inkscape has not been responsive for 10 minutes. Looking at the image it seems to be about 50% done (upper half appears to be rendered).
100% CPU use, 28.7 RAM use (of 8GB).
I will cancel and continue with an autosave.
My system:
Distro 4.0.4-1-ARCH x86_64
Mainboard FOXCONN A7GM-S 2.0
CPU AMD Phenom(tm) 9550 Quad-Core Processor
4 x 2200 MHz, 64-bit
RAM 7.8G
Video Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI]
Cape Verde PRO [Radeon HD 7750 / R7 250E]
