Bug Description
Here is how to reproduce.
Create Perfect circle.
Covert it to a path
Select all 4 nodes on circle
Hit "Insert" on your keyboard. It subdivided the lines. You have a total of 8 nodes.
Select circle, and Use transform menu to rotate the circle 45 degees. Watch how all the nodes when rotated, land ontop each other perfectly each time it rotates.
NOW !!!
Select all 8 nodes, hit Insert one more time. Giving you a total of 16 nodes. (each line is subdivided right?)
Select circle, and make nodes visible.
Rotate the circle 45 degrees a few times in the transform menu.
You will NOT see the nodes land on the same relative spot after each rotate. They are off. Not perfect. The nodes have a resonance to them.
I was trying to make gears using this method, and realized the gears were not perfect. This seams like a bug. A "Node insert" bug. Like some math is not being calculated correctly when subdiving a line in half.
Ok hope that helps. Its nit picky, but good luck,
Please add information about OS/platform and Inkscape version (see Inkscape menu 'Help > About Inkscape') to the bug description.
