with regard to your comment #26, in that sentence I was trying to point out that some documents could not need the rescaling at all: think about a 64x64 px icon. It was to say that the conversion should not be applied automatically but the user must always be asked for confirmation.
At the actual state this problem is still not present because we only have an extension that one must know of and choose to deliberately apply to his documents. The situation would be different if an automatic recognition of the document state is introduced (which I think would be appropriate for most non informed users).
