Bug Description

Hello,

I have seen a bug opened some months ago but I was unable to recover it, so I'm opening a new one since I consider this is a compelling problem . I recently moved from a 13,3", 1366x768 screen to a newer 1920x1080 screen.

The problem I'm facing is that, despite my graphic work becoming better thanks to the increase in the screen real estate, I'm troubling a lot in selecting nodes and handles. Having increased the dpi of my laptop made their "physical" size too little to achieve a decent workflow (doing a little math, it is basically two times smaller).

I honestly would love to see an option to increase the node size into the preferences window! I'm running ubuntu 14.04 + inkscape trunk ppa and there's no sign of it.

Thanks for the help,

Alessandro

The node handle size in Inkscape trunk can be adjusted in
'Inkscape Preferences > Input/Output > Input Devices > Handle size'

Thanks suv for the help (no problem for the mistyping!).

It is definitely a duplicate of that one. If you can mark this one a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/172059 and close it, it would be very helpful! Apparently I'm not able to do that.

Sorry for having lost the previous bug. I was searching for it, but I think that https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/172059 should have a different title. Thanks again!

Based on your comments you are using current inkscape trunk (0.48+devel) and not current stable (0.48) [1]: please check the preferences as described earlier for the newly added option to change the size of the node handles:
1) open Inkscape Preferences (Ctrl+Shift+P)
2) in the list on the left side of the preferences dialog, select
   'Input/Output > Input Devices'
3) in the panel on the right side of the preferences dialog, adjust the
'Handle size' by dragging the slider further to the right

As explained earlier to Vladimir in bug #172059, this setting so far only affects nodes and node handles, but not yet the transformation handles (arrows) of a selection (-> the bug status is 'In Progress').

[1] The next major release will have the version 0.91:
<http://inkscape.org/en/news/2013/12/19/inkscape-049-will-now-be-inkscape-091/>
This next major release 0.91 will be based on current trunk (0.48+devel) which AFAICT is what you have installed via Ubuntu PPA 'inkscape-trunk'. You can verify which version you are actually using via Inkscape menu 'Help > About Inkscape'. Note that 0.48.4 is the official stable version, and that current trunk uses '0.48+devel' as version string.
