Notification region: empty or showing deleted guides message after mouseover then away from color swatches

Tested with r12960 and v0.48.4 r9939,
on linux mint 15 32bit

After starting inkscape,
and one of these tools are active:

zoom in or out,
measurement,
rectangle,
3d box,
ellipse,
star,
spiral,
freehand,
bezier,
calligraphy,
eraser,
fill bounds,
gradients,
and
diagram connectors

and one moves the cursor over and away
from the color swatches at the bottom
of the inkscape window, then the
notification region (on the statusbar)
becomes empty, until the same or
another tool has been activated.

If a guide has been deleted by dragging it
on or past the rulers, then when one of the
tools above are active, the notification region
shows the message that the guide had when it
was deleted.

Confirmed on Crunchbang Waldorf, Inkscape 0.48.3.1 and trunk revision 12966.
