Probably better to use the upstream patch to avoid further divergence. Note that they have since moved to using bsearch instead of this manually implementation.

At some stage, we really need to merge some upstream changes back into trunk... and eventually drop our fork. We really shouldn't have the job of maintaining upstream libs. :-)
