Comment 19 for bug 1131428

I'm having the same problem as reported on a Lenovo machine, Y500, with Windows 8 Pro and all the standard manufacturer applications installed.
Running with any type of compatibility mode doesn't change the outcome.
The only workaround is to keep the inkscape window filling partially the screen and at every operation I have to run the mouse outside of that window so that its focus can be reset by the window manager. Then everything works fine untile the next selection
