Bug Description
The Pencil tool seems like a good option for making a quick sketch, but some of the things it does are very distracting. Various things pop up during and after drawing a line that get in the way if you're just sketching.
Unchecking "Show selection cue" in the Pencil preferences helps somewhat, but you still get little boxes at the endpoints of the lines. These boxes serve a purpose for some, allowing you to attach your next line to the previous one. But if you're just drawing a sketch, the endpoint boxes are rather distracting.
That's why I think there should be an option to disable them.
