Docked dialogs scale with font size

Bug Description

Windows 7 x64
Affects Inkscape 0.48+devel r11577 and later. Latest tested r11789

Text and Fonts are docked, along with Fill and Stroke and Layers.
When you choose a exaggerated font size (say 400 or 500) Fonts preview in dock scales to the size and Text and Font dock scales accordingly. Apart from bug #1082926 the problem is, that other docked dialogs also scale. Tested with Fill and Stroke dock and Layers dock. Now if we use a extreme font size in our file all dock become stretched out of proportion. Even when text is not selected - you don't actively edit fonts, docks remain stretched to the size of last font you used.
A workaround:
Create a "dummy" text block with a normal font size. All docks will scale back.
Annoyances:
Whenever you select the text block with large font size all dock will stretch and remain stretched.
Workaround:
Select the "dummy" text box - all docks will jump back (keep dummy text handy ;-)

Inkscape 0.48.3.1 r9886 not affected. Text and Font dialog not docked, does not affect docked dialogs.

Edit
A solution would be to *not* scale preview in Text and Font dialog. Would kill two bugs with one blow. But it would (presumably) not prevent one docked dialog scaling other docked dialogs.

AFAICT not really a solution: depending on text content the dialog in current trunk will still resize - see item 2 in related report

Thank you for pointing that out, I was not aware of that report. I guess you are right, multi-line text will do the same. I didn't consider multi-line text simply because I didn't need it.
This issue is annoying even with single line of text with very large font size. But this may be a border line case. If dialogs scale with multi-line text it may become annoying even with normal size fonts, and to many more users.
So is this cairo renderer issue or something introduced with the merge?
