Bug Description

Object nodes can't be selected using the node tool. Draw a rectangle, select it, then try to use the node tool to select the rectangle's nodes; it isn't possible. In the case of the rectangle, I can't see a good reason why the node tool should have this functionality prohibited.
But other objects present problems. For example, circles have an arc node; dragging that around in a selection would be unproductive. Also, if this feature were implemented, the two size nodes on the circle would need to become movable.

Rectangles have "arc" handles too, for rounded corners: what makes this feature request more sensible for rectangles than for the other parameterized Inkscape shapes (circle/ellipse, star/polygon, spiral, 3dbox)?
