I still see the same limitation as with GTK2 though (possibly limited to OS X (?), as tracked in bug #167191):
For the canvas area, this fails (with both backends of GTK" and GTK3):
- scrolling horizontally with <Shift> + mouse wheel
It works as expected e.g. in the color palette below the canvas area, and in dialogs displaying a horizontal scrollbar.
