Bug Description

Initial situation, indicator-session says 'software is up-to-date'.
Run apt-get update in a terminal, it'll trigger update-manager. Or open update-manager via dash and reload to get updates.
Install updates with update-manager.
When installation is finished and there is nothing to update, indicator-session states, 'updates are about to be installed' and it stucks with this statement, I guess it will unless logout or resume happens. (screenshot is german local)
Update: After resume from suspend it still indicates 'installing updates'.
Dupe Bug #854756

Expected.
Don't indicate that packages are to be installed when they already are.
Instead indicate that software is up-to-date when update is finished.

Addendum comment #2:
Bug #831650 doesn't seem to be fixed.

Login, wait until update-manager twiggles and click on the icon in launcher, update-manager displays 117 updates available.
View indicator-session, it says software is up-to-date.

Still the case with:
indicator-session:
  Installed: 0.3.6-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 0.3.6-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 0.3.6-0ubuntu1 0

aptdaemon:

Update-manager pops up, indicator-session says software is up-to-date. (screenshot)
Install updates, indicator-session says updates get installed.
Update-manager is finished, indicator-session says software is up-to-date.
## I've made a video but rather not upload it until requested because it has over 37 MB.
## As in my other bug reports update-interval is still '0', that's why it's easy reproducable daily. (screenshot)

Added precise tag since it still had the wrong indication that applications are updated.
After upgrading over 130 packages today the issue seems to be solved.
The upgrade also incl. aptdaemon which obviously solved other bugs too (attached history.log).
After update and reboot, open update-manager via dash, reload package cache, update-manager presents updates and indicator-session displays updates available.
I'll monitor the next days if it's randomly solved or fixed for good.

Unsolved. Proceeded several updates, when update-manager displays them indicator-session still gives no indication. When reloading package cache in update-manager and there're updates available then indicator-session indicates it correctly.

Same happens randomly with 'restart' when updating via update-manager it once displayed to restart the system until today, other times it doesn't indicate the 'restart'.

#9 is still true. Only when update-manger is called manually and after reloading the cache it indicates 'updates available', it completely ign terminal inputs.
#10 is still true. Update-manager required a restart after latest kernel -10-17, there was no indication of the restart in session menu.
## The manual call of update-manager from dash is necessary since I don't know how long I'm supposed to wait until it wiggles in launcher, obviously affected by bug 323108 and also by notifier bug 913325.
Oneiric update-manager displays after a short time online, but never seen a notifier.

After 41 min. online, update-manager appears in launcher, indicator-session doesn't indicate updates-available. When rechecking the cache of update-manager it indicates updates available.
