Can someone confirm whether or not this is still occurring in with indicator-datetime version 13.10.0+
Given that the settings panel was also greyed out, my first guess is that indicator-datetime was crashing and not being restarted. Ted Gould's upstart work on indicators during the 14.04 should fix the restart issue, so I'd like to get confirmation on whether or not this is still an issue in up-to-date 14.04 installs.
