Bug Description

Please restore the previous behaviour of left-clicking. Show/hide the main window on left click and show context menu on right click. The current behaviour is terrible. Now it is impossible to restore main window in one click, but it's most important action if you use application every day.

Each of my applications shows/hides main window on left click and shows context menu on right click in 9.10. Skype, pidgin, thunderbird, transmission, rhythmbox, opera, stardict and many other applications. Where did you find applications that do not have such behaviour?
Now I can not work properly with these applications because of your Application Indicators.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/525875

Or add some way to restore main window using one click.

I appreciate your concern, but a core design element of the application indicators is that they are all menus. This is intentional, I'm sorry that you don't like it.

They have already shown the menu on the right-click. Why is current behaviour is better? Have you tried to use it? It is totally unusable.

Stop all this petty bickering back and forth, it is asinine. This is a legitimate bug because it is a *usability regression*. There are two points of view on how this should be done, and you need to allow this bug to exist as a feature request for people to vote on to gauge how important this is to the community at large. The Notification Area was a huge fuck-up in 9.10 and it's shameful that it made it to 10.04 with the number of people that complained about it, but now we're stuck with it. So instead of sticking our heads in the sand, lets all try to be constructive and fix things to make it right for our users so that they do not continue to leave in droves...

Also this is confirmed by a lot Xubuntu users. Maybe also Ubuntu users who dont use MeMenu and other time waste but space save (witch isnt needed forr 3 programm users) programms have reported theese bug reports. So its confirmet that regression happened becouse of not having propper info about how it affects everyone..
Regression doesnt help ppl who doesnt Use MeMenu. Thouse i believe are more and also just for one MeMenu isnt needed to make all programms change theyr behaviour but MeMenu can code that in itself.

Marking this as "wontfix" in Transmission. There's nothing that can be done in the Transmission code unless/until Application Indicator adds a mechanism for this.

I think this is a usability regression... as is the lack of tooltips.
