Bug Description

I don't know if this is a bug or what, maybe an enhancement, here is my problem... I don't use that mail icon on my indicator applet, so i want to remove from there, but if i try to remove the icon, i can't, i can remove all the applet. And if i remove all the applet i remove all the applications that use the applet, because now ubuntu moves uses the indicator-applet like a tray. Some ideas?

Cheers

Yes, I also believe that some of the recent changes do not take into account the interests of those parties that are not constantly using twitter and empathy. Similar with the indicator applet session, it should be splittable into two parts, the session manager standalone and the gwibber part.

Changed in indicator-applet:

If you want to remove the mail icon on the indicator applet, you have to remove from synaptic the package "indicator-messages".
This is a simple way to by-pass the problem, not a solution, but it works.

Thanks lost 911. Btw, I noticed you can also remove the MeMenu by uninstalling the package indicator-me (in case some people don't need it).

Here is another good idea, use the notification area and make each icon its own app. Then make it follow the HIG. Oh wait...
