Just updated from 9.10 to 10.04 (amd64) and immediately saw that indicator-applet uses about 10-20% cpu all the time. Sometimes even more.
# dpkg -l | grep indicator-applet
ii indicator-applet 0.3.6-0ubuntu2 GNOME panel indicator applet
