I would do another try on the Ubuntu 22.04.3, but I am not sure if I have downloaded earlier the right kernel source. Could you send the link to the one you used?

What anout the .config file. Did you made the config as described earlier? So no stock config, just running the make menuconfig and that is all?

Any specific thing you did differently than above?
