Hi Quinten,

first attempt on Ubuntu failed. I have downloaded the source package for the kernel 6.5.0-9.9, than I have followed the steps and compile went without error.

During install, however, it said that some modules are missing for 6.5.3 kernel, which is a bit weird.

Restarted the system, and the 6.5.3 kernel was there, but not as a default. The default remained the 6.5.0.

6.5.3 was not booting up. It jumped out to commandline.

I make anouther try now. Just cloning the latest Ubuntu git source package and try to patch that.

Update: This is weird. Make went well, no warnings. Make modules took longer then in the previous case. After install in grub the versions is 6.1.6. How can it be when I have cloned the latest Ubunu Mantic release source code, which should be 6.5.0-x.

System not loading, stuck at the same place as before.

Update: I have downloaded Debian 12 and the above mentioned kernel. Went through the steps. No errors during make or install. But the system does not load. It jumps out to the shell and stops. I have tried it in recover mode and it seems to get stuck on loading a module, but not clear what. I give up now and waiting for the official solution. But as I see the Ubuntu patch updates, it will take a while until we can see any progress on it.

Rgds
