Bug Description

Today I uploaded EAD to an item and when I edited the EAD, added all of my links and refreshed the page all of the headings disappeared except for one. Here is a link to the item:

Attached is a screenshot of what the EAD container looked like before I added the links. I took this screen shot because I actually had a problem with another EAD item where the headings were truncated (but didn't totally disappear) and I thought that it maybe had something to do with special characters? Colons or dashes for instance? Here is a link to the truncated one:

I suppose I can look at the original ead.xml file to see what the heading originally was but is there a way for me to edit the headings? If not, is there a way to redo these? (Delete the .xml file and re-upload it?) Can you help me figure out what the problem is so I can try and prevent for future items?

Thanks!

Okay, I finally figured this one out. For the items where heading become truncated after editing, there is an <emph
render="italic"> tag included in the <unittitle> tag. Everything that appears after the emphasis disappears. If I delete those tags, re-upload the .xml file and re-edit the EAD thing appear and work just fine.

I'm doing these for Leo Baeck and they are okay with me removing that tag. From now on I will just look the ead.xml files over first before uploading them.

Wow. Nice detective work Christine. I'll bring this up with Raj to see
if he can fix this issue, so that you won't be required to modify the
xml files. It will be easier to communicate what the issue is since
you've pinpointed the cause of the problem.

Thanks again for this and I'll let you know once we are able to resolve
the issue.
