Most users are not going to know the difference between filesystem types.
  Adding more details may just risk an overload of information. I can't imagine another situation, other than the one you described with ext3 and ext4, where this would benefit the majority of users and be worth the risk.
  Karmic Koala will use ext4 by default and so your use case applies only to Jaunty.
