Bug Description

default partitioning of ubuntu picks a far too small size for /boot/

This results in that even after very few security updates of the kernel, further updates break due to out of disk space problems

/dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg-root 157G 78G 72G 52% /
/dev/sdb2 237M 202M 23M 91% /boot
/dev/sdb1 511M 3,4M 508M 1% /boot/efi

suggestion:
allocate somewhat more space for /boot/ 250M is maybe too conservative

workaround
sudo apt-get autoremove

The real problem is the accumulation of kernels; one or two old revisions is fine, but after a while you can end up with a dozen kernels occupying over a gigabyte or two of disk space. The kernel packages really need to be reworked to auto remove older versions beyond one or two.
