Bug Description

This seems to happen from time to time. It's usually caused by images that weren't removed after an update. It's usually fixed by removing images that were not automatically removed and so are cluttering the device. I will probably have the issue fixed on my machine before anyone reads this. The only reason I report it is because I'm betting the average user can't fix the problem.

A good permanent fix would be to have Ubuntu automatically remove old images on update to keep the space clean. I'd love to help make this happen but it's above my skill level.

Removing automatically all the kernels is dangerous, as if the computer doesn't boot with an upgraded one the device can become permanently bricked.

So it is suggested to keep at least two kernels, if space will allow:

I agree it is dangerous to auto remove all old kernels but that is exactly what I am experiencing on Vivid.
I opened this bug because of that reason /etc/kernel/postinst.d/apt-auto-removal is broken and only keeps the latest kernel.

Perhaps it is not distinquishing between a PC and a phone?
