Please upgrade hplip driver to 3.12.2. Follow the instructions in http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html . Run "hp-setup" in terminal to setup the printer. The printer M1212nf requires a plugin file to install. Please install it.

Once setup is done, hope you can use the printer for print/scan/fax. Let us know if you have any issue.
