always need to resume printer manually

Bug Description

Sorry for my English.

The printer goes stopped when problem arise (an empty tray, paper jam, etc.). After elimination of the problem (clear the jam, add paper to the tray, etc.), the printer stay stopped and requires to resume manually via CUPS web interface. This occurs regardless of the setting ErrorPolicy in cupsd.conf and printers.conf. The printer(hplip) ignores setting "ErrorPolicy retry-job" and gets stuck: "/usr/libexec/cups/backend/hp failed".
It is very inconvenient.

Please, fix it.
Thank you very much.

This bug is still out there in 3.16 hplip. 1 affected person us a gross under estimation. a neighbor bought a new HP printer and installed on Ubuntu 16.04. Every time the printer is off line or turned off plus not turned on when laptop is started, the printer get stuck in "stopped - unplugged or turned off" state. Could not find a menu choice to restart the printing but had to use command line.
