Just buy a HP printer which costs $1600 now
and you will very likely be happy with a nice
PostScript/PCL device which is reasonable robust.
Perhaps not as robust as the LaserJet series II,
but then just buy one which costs now the
current real equivalent of $1600 from 1988 ;-)
Again:
I never had a real problem with my LaserJet 1220
which is a LaserJet 1200 plus scanner unit and
a LaserJet 1200 was much cheaper than $1600.
