Bug Description

Hello,
There is a bug with hplip, I try v3.16.11 and v3.19.1 on Centos 7

hp laserJet Pro MFP m130fw is a supported printer:
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index

I use this driver: HP-LaserJet-MFP-m129-m134

But it always prints this message:
Unsupported Personality: UNKNOWN

How to resolve this problem?

Thanks for your help.

Looks ok.

Not a message from HPLIP but from the printer.

> How to resolve this problem?

Is the device connected by USB or is it on the network?

What CUPS and cups-filters versions are in use?

Please give what you get for

  avahi-browse -rt _ipp._tcp

Hello Brian,

The device is connected on network.

cups-1.6.3-35.el7.x86_64
cups-libs-1.6.3-35.el7.x86_64

cups v1.6.3 and cups-filters v1.0.35

# avahi-browse -rt _ipp._tcp
returns nothing.

Regards,
David.

Hello David,

I suppose you have tried power-cycling the device?

Unfortunately, at least CUPS 2.2.2 and version 1.13.0 of cups-filters are needed to try what I had originally in mind.

It shouldn't! How about 'avahi-browse -art'? Bonjour broadcasting and AirPrint are usually done on the printer by default; is either turned off?

Please give the output of 'lpoptions -p print_queue_name'.

I am completely mystified about this. (Not that it is central to solving your issue).

> Enabled Features
Followed by a long list of features. IPv4: Enabled etc, etc.

That is a very interesting output. How did you get it? (Not that this is central either).

The following is central.

> make-and-model='HP LaserJet MFP m129-m134 hpijs, 3.16.11'

You are using the hpijs PPD and driver. Try setting up a queue with the hpcups driver and see how you go on.

I reinstall hplip with this options:

./configure --with-hpppddir=/usr/share/cups/model/HP --libdir=/usr/lib64 --prefix=/usr --enable-qt4 --disable-qt5 --disable-doc-build --enable-cups-ppd-install --enable-foomatic-drv-install --enable-libusb01_build --enable-foomatic-ppd-install --disable-hpijs-install --enable-udev_sysfs_rules --disable-policykit --disable-cups-drv-install --enable-hpcups-install --enable-network-build --disable-dbus-build --disable-scan-build --disable-fax-build --disable-foomatic-rip-hplip-install

And I choose manually hpcups driver and it works.

Thank you!
