I have an HP Officejet 6110 AIO attached to an OpenSUSE 12.2 box (HPLIP 3.12.4, SANE 1.0.22.)

When scanning (both with scanimage and over the network via saned) the scan completes successfully, but the scanner light remains on. scanimage -n, which the manpage says can be used to turn off the light, doesn't work. The light even remains on after a power cycle. It does finally turn off when the printer goes into standby mode, but that takes at least an hour.
