Hello Amarnath,

currently I do not use a special %attr for /var/lib/hp in hplip.spec
so that it becomes installed as follows on the end-users system:

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jun 28 12:04 /var/lib/hp

Therefore only root can write to it.

I don't know if perhaps also the user "lp" may need to write to it
i.e. that "lp" may need to create files therein - e.g. "lp" might
need to create /var/lib/hp/hplip.state if is does not yet exist?
