I've had a similar issue before, so I totally get where you're coming from. It's frustrating when settings don't work as expected, especially when you're trying to filter reports.

In my case, I was using a different software, but the gist was the same. When I filtered by certain criteria, it hid transfers even though I didn't want it to. Turns out, it was because the transfer didn't have its own payment status icon clickable, so it got lumped in with other categories.
