Can people please test whether the attached file written to /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/10-sony-laptop-brightness.fdi, together with an otherwise unmodified set of hal fdi files, also works?

I believe this is what the earlier hal upload was aiming for, and fell just short of.

If it doesn't work, please again post the output of 'hal-find-by-property --key info.category --string laptop_panel | xargs lshal -u' for your affected system.
