Comment 2 for bug 574506

I asked a friend to help me convert my ovg created with RecordMyDesktop, and after pronouncing the encoding "weird" he did manage to come up with a conversion directive that works:

% mencoder -ovc xvid -xvidencopts bitrate=640 -oac mp3lame -o out.avi in.ogv

("out.avi" is the new file; "in.ogv" is the file to be converted.)

I also want to confirm that the on-the-fly recording in the RecordMyDesktop screencasting software has the bug stated in the original post: the video is unsynched with the audio, and the audio lasts much longer.

Btw, my screens trying to edit the ovg in OpenShot are gray, not white.
