Yes, I have been trying to create screencasts with gtk-recordMyDesktop (how do you get the interface to return after you're done recording?!) and edit in OpenShot video editor also, and I have exactly the same results: it won't work. I tried some other methods to convert the video to AVI and even tried editing it in a decent Windows video editor, but the video looks like your screenshot, more or less. I run 64-bit Lucid.
