Hi, I also have the same problem "Can't connect behind a proxy", but what happends here as far I know, is that my proxy server is not at public dns servers, so when setup my connection, i use my private dns server. When i click to enable google tasks, the window appear the google auth screen. And after login, the response URL cannot be loaded, giving the message "Unable to load page", plus the URL and " Cannot resolve proxy hostname ()". But if i paste the url at my browser it shows the page to confirm google-tasks-indicator to use the account and the next link is a localhost response which I assume is to the app recive the token. I was able to first overcome the proxy problem, setting my options on Ubuntu System Settings > Network to 'automatic' and editing my /etc/environment and adding the proxy settings there with user and password, just wont work on google response after login.

Any suggestions?

Sorry, for the bad english.

Thanks
