Ah ha, then this explains some things. I used gnumeric and exported to csv, but gnumeric doesn't provide options when saving to csv, and saves the dates as yyyy/mm/dd.
Perhaps gnuclad could parse the three separator formats; the dot, the slash and the hyphen.
