Yes this bug is about the log messages only, not about it causing any problems.
It's not impossible the two bugs are related but I would really need to investigate your freezes first to be sure. Just as I do for multiple such bug reports every day.
Instead of clouding this bug with potentially unrelated comments please open a new bug about your freezes by running:
ubuntu-bug gnome-shell
and I will investigate it.
