actually, the evdev change broke ABNT2 and jp106 cases partially, and the most sane way to fix it was to force the rules (not model) to be evdev when evdev driver is used. This has been changed in xkeyboard-config upstream, and it also means that there is no need for gnome-settings-daemon (or KDE) to force the model as evdev. It should be configurable like before.

It'll take a while until the situation is cleared, so hang on while updates arrive. Those that had problems with "normal(ish) setups" before should not notice the change, but those with ABTN2 or jp106 might be pleasantly surprised. The bugs that were opened for those cases should be enough for now, though.
