Bug Description

Hi,

I'm using the latest maximus on Intrepid, and I see a problem with
the handling of the volume control applet.

When I single-left-click on the applet to get the volume slider it
is maximised, whereas it should be left to do it's usual thing.
I attach a screenshot showing the current behaviour.

Thanks,

James

Hmm, this is odd, like the volume applets window-type has been changed to 'normal'. When it's open, does the window show in the Alt+Tab switcher?

Yes it does, I just remembered to test.

That seems like a bug in the drop-down...it should really present itself as a 'popup' or 'menu', so it doesn't interfere with other windows. Maximus would skip over it and it wouldn't show in the switcher, either.

For the short-term, you can add it's wm_class into /apps/maximus/exclude_class list. Grab thw wm_class using `xprop | grep WM_CLASS` and click on the volume-control window.

Hi,

The mixer applet is actually in gnome-applets, so I changed the upstream task.

You might want to take a look at

  http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gnome-applets/trunk/mixer/dock.c?r1=10757&r2=10872

and

Thanks,

James

Marking as invalid in netbook-remix as it is/was a gnome-panel error. Trying with latest intrepid fully updated, the volume-control window behaves itself and doesn't maximise anymore :-)
