Comment 9 for bug 989838

Just figured out how to fix it, Aatish. Like you said, I need to remove all proxies whether or not they are enabled. In vanilla unity from 12.04, I went to

System Settings -> Network -> Network proxy -> Manual

and deleted all proxy text fields, and reset all ports to 0. (Then switch back the method to "None")
