Glance team isn't planning on removing this purge feature yet. If you would like to see it removed please propose the same to the developers or if you are monitoring if this is (will be) removed, then please read the release notes of that release.

The reason is, if we simply list out releases "Glance, Liberty, Mitaka, Newton" then this note will / may become outdated in Ocata.
