I'm having the same issue. gparted was working fine. I restarted my pc and somehow it was uninstalled when i turned my pc back on. I installed it and tried running it and the same thing happened.

I'm running a completely clean fresh new install of ubuntu 17.04

Output for "sudo gparted":
